@@Due to individual preferences and objectives, the history of Chinese painting from the 19th century onwards has been structured to meet specific criteria. With new approaches and new available research materials, scholars in the past twenty years have presented a wholly different interpretation. Much remains to be done, however. Mr. SHIH Yun-wen, the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts and the Chang Foundation in Taiwan are cooperating to organize an exhibition on 19th century Chinese painting and an accompanying international symposium to further scholarly investigation into this exciting and rich period of Chinese painting history. This exhibition will be shown in three parts at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, from March 31 to August 26, 2007.
